Join Washington, D.C. political and policy experts Dr. Julie McClure and Katie Naessens for a timely discussion on the recent election results and what they mean for agricultural science policy in the 119th Congress. With a combined 30+ years in agriculture policy, Julie and Katie have played key roles in shaping legislation and funding outcomes, including in the farm bill and annual appropriations. Julie’s background in science and policy advocacy, paired with Katie’s experience as a former congressional staffer and USDA advisor, provides a unique perspective on how the election results could shape the future of agricultural research funding and policy. Whether you are thrilled or disappointed with the election results, engagement from researchers, students, CPSS and CCAs is critical to support science-based federal policies.
