This short course series will follow the life and care of fruit trees through the four seasons. The focus will primarily be on apples and pears.
Session 1: Summer Care Package
This session will focus on what we call the “Summer Care Package,” which delves into the details of summer pruning and training your trees. We will also use this session to look back and recap the “Fruit Year.” Other topics we’ll cover include: cover fruit ripening, pest diseases, and how to enliven your soil biologically.
Session 2: Harvest, Taste Test, and Prep for Next Year
This session will focus on harvest and preparing for next year, which includes ordering, and planning for cover crops. We will also go over the greatest hits of varieties and have a taste test!
Session 3: Winter Conditions and Care
This session will elaborate on the various winter conditions you may encounter and best practices for your fruit trees in the wintertime, such as pruning and planting.
Session 4: Spring Seasonal Updates and Care
This session will provide you with the spring seasonal update and in which we discuss, look at, and answer spring-specific questions such as: how the blooms are doing, how are crops progressing, and what the best practices are at this time in the season.
